Tips & Tricks

Carrom Strikers

  • Know your shot: Before striking your shot, always analyze the fundamentals and check if there’s any other coin in your way. If yes, it is advised to make the easier shot first in which there is no coin in between the pocket and your desired coin.
  • Choose the right finger: The best flicking of your finger is your main aim. If you think the forefinger is better than the middle one, then use that. There is no rule as to which finger to use so use your best one. Make sure you flick with the end of your nail and start of your cuticle for the best outcome
  • Apply the right amount of force: Know when to apply greater force and when to apply little to no force. If the distance between the pocket and the coin is very little, greater force might make it bounce back. Hence always analyze the force you need to make a shot.
  •  Keep an eye out for the queen: Pocketing a queen is similar to pocketing other coins. But the Queen never steps alone. The only thing to note here is that you have to pocket one more coin of your color to back up the queen.
  • Be patient: Always take your time for the shot. Do not flick in a hurry and stay calm to avoid sweaty hands. If you finger slips, you lose a chance and may even hit the opponent’s coin.
