And the best thing that goes with it is ‘Rice,’ now it totally depends on what kind of rice you love, but my personal favourite is Jeera Rice. This simple recipe has simple ingredients which are easily available in every market. Here is the list of it: 

  • Basmati Rice 

  • Onion Thinly sliced. (Optional)

  • Coriander Leaves

  • Salt 

  • Water

  • Ghee/Oil

Now that we are done selecting the best possible brand and have all the incidents, it is time to make some delicious jeera rice. Follow this recipe and steps:

  • Add the ghee to the pan and let it be on a low flame for a second.

  • When the ghee is all melted, add the cumin seed to the pan and strip them till they make some oppy sound and change their colour.

    POV- This step is my favourite as the fragrance it leaves is just amazing.

  • Optionally, you can even add onions to it. 

  • Now after measuring and washing the required basmati rice, put the soaked rice in the pan. 

  • Add salt to taste and stir well.

  • Add double the amount of water to rice, to make the fluffiest and best rice ever. 

  • Stir well and wait for the bubbles to rise, once done close the lid and put the flame on slow.

  • After 10-15 minutes, your rice will be ready.

Advice To Keep In Mind While Cooking Jeera Rice

Everything is now completed and told in this blog, but there are still some tips and tricks that you can follow if you are a beginner or even a pro maybe?

  • Try to use long-grain basmati rice for better cooking and flavour.

  • Wash your rice at least 3 to 4 times before you cook them.

  • It is always preferable and recommended to soak the rice for about 10 minutes before cooking.

  • It is important to add the right amount of cumin. No excess, No Less.

  • And remember to keep the ratio of water and rice to 2:1
